Among the various activities of Tubas Charitable Society to commemorate the Week of combating  violence against woman, and in partnership with the Women Center for Legal Aid and Counseling, with funding from Drsoss Foundation, Police , the Department of Social Development with presence of  70 students from Tubas governorate and a number of public and private institutions.

Mr. Atef Sabri, the head of the faculty of community service directs the meeting at the university.
 In the beginning, he greets the audience and presents the speakers, then Doctor, Suhail Abu Mayaleh, the head of Al-Quds Open University, starts the meeting by referring to the status of woman and her role in the Palestinian society and rejecting some of violent habits and practices against woman. Then, he called for a bigger institutional support for woman. He said that this is what he is trying to do at the university to enhance respect for women's role.  

After that, Maha Daraghmeh, the head of society, in her speech greets the partners and the audience , she emphasized the importance of the concerted efforts to serve Palestinian woman and her issues.

In addition to that, the head of  the unit of capacity building in the Women Center for Legal Aid and Counseling, Faten Nabhan, spoke about the emergence of the center and its programs and role in protecting woman from violence and she highlighted  the importance of the  work of partner basal organizations and the need for community action to reduce  violence against women.

Besides, Hanan Jamouse from the Ministry of Social Development spoke about cases of violence against woman and she presents the percentage of women who were subjected to violence and the partner institutions and safe houses in the West Bank.  Then, she illustrated the mechanism of receiving, transferring, and the safe file saving. After that, she referred to the programs of economic empowerment for woman to reduce violence against her.   
What is more, Mohammed Qasrawi the major of the Family Protection department emphasized the role of the department in the protection of woman and he presents different kinds of violence against women like physical, sexual, and electronic offences, and he asserts the privacy of the cases that resorts to the police and that only the specialized forces has the right to know the case. After that, he spoke about The Penal Code and the need to develop it in line with life developments and the reduction of violence against woman.
In the end of the meeting, the speakers tend to discuss the subject with the audience to give them the chance to ask questions and each of the speakers answers them according to his /her area of specialization. In the end of the meeting, the Moon Theater presents a wonderful video about the phenomenon of violence against woman and the attempts to reduce it.
